MSLEA is seeking presidential candidates! This term will be for the balance of the present term (approximately 13
months). Anyone interested in running for President needs to contact the MSLEA webmaster and add their name to the list
of candidates. Candidates should then post their “platform” on the website so the members can read about them prior to
voting. Individual member groups will be voting through their Board Directors and will only have until 9/5/08 to cast their
ballot. The new President will be “seated” along with new Board Directors at the annual meeting on 9/27/08. Members will
be contacted on or about 8/21/08 with the list of Presidential candidates, along with candidates for Board Directors. If
members have questions they should contact their Board Directors.
Dear MSLEA members,
We are about to begin the process of electing a new President who will finish out the term left vacated by Steven Couture.
This term will be for approximately 13 months. If you are interested in running for President please submit your name to the
website, along with your “platform” for members to consider. Nominations will be accepted until 8/20/08. Members will vote
for both President and Board Director through their respective Board Directors. You will only have until 9/5/08 to cast your
ballots. The new President and Board Directors will be seated at the annual meeting on 9/27/08. If you have any questions
about this process please contact your Board Director.
Please be assured that myself, as the current “interim” President, and the entire MSLEA Board have been working hard
behind the scenes on a variety of issues. As we seat a new President and new Board Directors in September we will
continue to make the transition process a smooth one. I could not be more proud of the exceptional job that our Board
Directors and Officers have been doing. Along with that, I am equally proud and continue to be impressed by our business
agent, Craig Poulin, who continuously works hard on all members behalf. We have an incredible team and continue to
establish excellent working relationships with our fellow Law Enforcement Unions. I am honored to be serving as your
“Interim President” and will continue to give 100% until the new President is elected. Once that occurs I will resume the
office of Vice President. Thank you all for your continued support during this time of transition and stay safe out there!
Tamson H. Ross
MSLEA “Interim” President
