Dear members, July 15, 2019
As most of you know the proposed contract was ratified yesterday with a final vote of 116 to ratify and 76 votes not to ratify. I very much appreciate your involvement in this process as this was an unprecedented number of member votes.
As president I take the concerns of our members seriously and although I appreciate that several member groups have made out well and the wage increase is acceptable, I’m still disappointed in that we were not able to achieve all that we set out to.
I ask that you trust that we will continue to work on these issues on many different levels to achieve what we set out to do.
In closing I would like to thank Executive Director Dan Tourtelotte, Vice President Kevin Buckmore of Probation & Parole, Forest Ranger Lisa Byers, Marine Patrol Officer Jason Leavitt, Juvenile Community Corrections Officer Russ McMahon, Senior Fire Investigator Ed Archer, Game Warden Jeremy Kemp, Department of Corrections Detective Casey Riitano and Bureau of Motor Vehicle Detective David Silk for their invaluable input while serving on the negotiation team. I am honored to serve as President of MSLEA and work alongside each of you.
Please take the time to thank your board director for all they do for their agency members.
Fraternally,
Patrick B. Gagnon
President
